About

Kevin Ford was born and raised in Maryland, right in the heart of District 42.  Kevin is the son of Gary and Ginny Ford and has two brothers, Brandon and David.  Today, the Ford family lives throughout District 42 in Baltimore and Carroll Counties.

He began his love of agriculture at nine years old working on a local horse farm.  His love of agriculture included active involvement in 4-H and learning the Dairy industry. He furthered his interest with a job on the Ehrhardt Family dairy farm.  Eventually this led to the leasing of land to commence breeding cattle, raising pigs, and laying chickens.

Kevin’s dream culminated in the purchase of a sixty-acre farm which he and his wife, Carrie, have operated for more than eight years. Today the Ford family farm, known as Blue Star Farm, successfully operates with a dairy, beef, pork, and egg producing operation.  The farm’s operation has expanded to include wholesale and retail sales, restaurant sales, and even supplying a food truck for retail consumption.

Kevin and his wife Carrie first met at the ages of 14 and 15 at the Maryland State Fair.  They married later and after 18 years of marriage have four beautiful children: McConnaughy, Moxley, Boone, and Burch. The “little herd,” as Kevin and Carrie refer to their family, resides on their farm in White Hall.

Kevin was educated at Loyola Blakefield, Virginia Military Institute, and Towson University. Kevin has served the Baltimore County Fire Department since 2005 and after 3 promotions currently serves as a Fire Lieutenant.

Kevin volunteers in many community organizations including the Among the Stars Foundation, the Baltimore County Farm Bureau, the Hereford Junior Farm Fair, and as a youth athletics coach.  Kevin was recently appointed to the Baltimore County Agricultural Advisory Board.
